This video shows how to troubleshoot flashing lid lock errors on a vertical modular washer. To open it simply stop the washer and wait 1 to 3 minutes for the safety lock to release. If the control lock feature isn t engaged and the lock light continues to stay lit or flash try to perform a power reset. This type of top load washer locks the lid during the cycle because it spins the basket at a high rate of speed in the spin mode. If the washer is a good model the five indicator lights of door lock wash rinse final spin and control will flash the number of times for the first digit of the code and the start indicator light will flash the number of times for the second digit. A vertical modular top load washer flashes the lid lock light instead of a code when the washer won t start.
